Sonie Lasker began training Martial Arts in 2002, while she lived in Tel Aviv, Israel. Soon after moving back stateside, she met Shihan Donna Judge, an 11-time World Champion in Okinawan Shuri Ryu Karate, who became her teacher and mentor. Under Shihan Judge’s tutelage Sonie began competing in Martial Arts tournaments and almost immediately winning trophies. For the past three years, Sonie Lasker has been bringing Florida State Championship titles  to her home in Sarasota. This year she won Quadruple Crown: 4 State Divisional Championships. Following this achievement, Sonie was recruited as Team Captain for the USA Karate Team and will compete in the 2009 World Martial Arts Games in Sydney, Australia.

 

Professionally, Sonie is a nationally certified, AFAA Master Level Personal Trainer at Shapes Total Fitness for Women, where she’s received numerous awards including her designation as Trainer of The Year for 2006. As a celebrity fitness personality on Rochelle Herman's Radio Talk show, Health Beat of America (WSRQ 1220 AM), Sonie openly discusses fitness and wellness concepts with the host, providing a wealth of information for the listeners. Sonie is active in her community, supporting charitable organizations, donating personal fitness and self-defense sessions to school fundraisers, national awareness silent auctions, and more.
